Dr. Ameesh Samalopanan, a psychologist turned management researcher, began his professional journey as a clinical psychologist with a master’s degree in the field. After a brief stint as a consultant psychologist, he transitioned to academia, serving as a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Kerala.
Over the years, his academic interests shifted towards Humanistic Management, a discipline that advocates recognising employees as individuals with inherent dignity rather than treating them solely as functional components of organisational systems. This philosophical orientation profoundly influences his research and teaching practices.
Dr Ameesh Samalopanan holds a doctoral degree from Krea University, with his PhD thesis titled “Understanding Dignity at the Workplace: Studies from Indian Workplaces.” His doctoral work reflects a sustained commitment to the dignity of labour and the creation of inclusive, respectful, and humane organisational environments.
His research interests intersect management and indigenous knowledge systems, with a focus on integrating traditional Indian wisdom into contemporary management thought and practice.
Outside the academic realm, he cultivates a keen interest in sports, cinema, photography, and automobiles—interests that often serve as informal avenues for connecting with and engaging students and colleagues alike.
