Dignity Law Conference
The Dignity Law Conference represents the kind of conversation that does not occur often enough in contemporary legal discourse. Organised by the Indian Journal of Constitutional Law in collaboration with the Centre for Constitutional Law, Policy and Good Governance, the conference brings together some of the most compelling voices in constitutional and human rights law.
In its latest edition, the conference featured distinguished scholars such as Anshuman Shukla, Erin Daly, and Anup Surendranath, who engaged with one of the most quietly powerful and evolving concepts in modern legal thought—human dignity. The discussions explored how dignity is defined, how it is operationalised in legal reasoning, and what it ultimately promises both within the courtroom and beyond it.
By situating this inquiry at the intersection of constitutional law and lived experience, the conference creates a space for deep and meaningful reflection on foundational legal values. It is particularly valuable for students and practitioners alike, offering an opportunity to engage with ideas that continue to shape the trajectory of rights-based jurisprudence.
Dates of Last Edition: It was the first edition, and it was organised on 5th and 6th July 2026. You can access the last edition here.
