Professor Sitharamam Kakarala
Designation: Convenor, Research Board

The Ph.D. programme at NALSAR is offered in two distinct disciplinary clusters:
There are 25 total vacancies in the Ph.D. programme: 15 across Law, Humanities, Social Sciences and their cognate disciplines and 10 across Management and its cognate disciplines.
As an institution that encourages, promotes, and incubates new and exciting research in emerging and interdisciplinary areas, NALSAR is especially seeking doctoral proposals in new and emerging areas that may have a cross-cutting focus across Law, Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The area selected should enable the candidate to make an original contribution to knowledge.
In keeping with its commitment to expanding the frontiers of not only legal research but also research in Management, Humanities, and the Social Sciences, admissions shall be made only if a research proposal is found satisfactory and suitable.
In fact, the University reserves the right not to fill the advertised seats if the Research Board does not find the requisite number of research-worthy proposals. Similarly, the University may admit more candidates if the Research Board finds proposals that can advance the University’s research agenda.
