The Courts and Constitution Conference
The Courts and Constitution Conference (CnC) is the flagship public law conference hosted annually by NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. It brings together leading scholars, judges, practitioners, policymakers, and students to critically examine contemporary developments in constitutional law and governance.
CnC serves as a distinctive platform for rigorous academic engagement on the role of courts within constitutional democracies. The conference engages with a wide range of themes, including judicial accountability, constitutional interpretation, democratic institutions, digital freedoms, rights adjudication, and the evolving relationship between courts and society.
Each edition features high-level panel discussions, keynote lectures, book discussions, and thematic sessions involving some of the most influential voices in constitutional law. Past editions have hosted eminent constitutional scholars, senior advocates, policymakers, and academics from India and across the world, contributing to a rich and diverse exchange of ideas.
Over time, the conference has established itself as one of India’s most vibrant forums for public law scholarship—fostering meaningful dialogue between academia and practice, while creating valuable opportunities for early-career scholars and students to engage directly with leading figures in the field.
Beyond its intellectual programming, CnC seeks to cultivate a sustained community of public law scholars and practitioners committed to strengthening constitutionalism, democratic accountability, and the rule of law.
