The NALSAR Film Festival, first launched in 2024, returned with an even more vibrant second edition in 2025, establishing itself as a dynamic platform for cinematic engagement on campus. The festival brought together diverse forms of creative expression through curated film screenings spanning multiple languages and genres, complemented by immersive and practice-oriented learning opportunities.

Participants engaged in a filmmaking workshop led by Amudhan RP, alongside specialised acting and claymation workshops that encouraged hands-on exploration of visual storytelling. A virtual Q&A session with acclaimed filmmaker Payal Kapadia offered valuable insights into contemporary cinema and its evolving language.

Complementing these engagements were open-air screenings that fostered a shared cultural experience within the campus community, reinforcing the festival’s emphasis on accessibility and collective viewing. The festival further expanded its artistic scope through a Bharatanatyam performance by Aranyani Bhargav, highlighting the interplay between cinematic and performative traditions.

Through its blend of screenings, workshops, and interdisciplinary performances, the NALSAR Film Festival continues to evolve as a vibrant cultural platform—enriching the artistic landscape of the university while encouraging meaningful engagement with cinema in its many forms.
